Royal School of Needlework Stitch Bank

Resource verified by SHCG editorial group

Host: Royal Society of Needlework

The RSN Stitch Bank aims to digitally conserve and preserve every stitch in the world, becoming the biggest repository of stitch in the world. They launched with the first 150 stitches to kick off celebrations for their 150th anniversary in 2022. The website includes fully illustrated and searchable stitches, including searching by embroidery techniques, stitch use and stitch structures, as well as a browsable "stitch wall" that acts as a visual index/searching aid. Each entry includes a step-by-step method for the stitch and bibliographic references. Some include videos showing the stitch being created.
